Barking’s Molten Festival 2010 was produced by Remarkable Productions on behalf of Barking and Dagenham Council and took place in Barking Town Square.

This two day event kicked off with local favourites Barking Bateria accompanied by ‘disco grannies with a twist’ from street theatre favourites Larkin About and their hilarious show Granny Tourismo.

Friday saw an outdoor street dance and circus spectacular featuring Avant Garde Dance pieces 'Attack on the Square' , 'Taxi' and 'The Silver Tree' presented together for the first time.

Saturday’s programme was headlined by a 45 piece Samba band and Dancers in the form of the fantastic Rhythms of the City. Also appearing on the Saturday were 'In the Dholdrums' by local boys The Dhol Academy and Manchester spectacle specialists Walk the Plank which featured the largest Dhol Drum in the World. Other highlights included spoof Aussie TV Chef Stompy with has hilarious show 'The Half Naked Chef' plus beauty tips to make you cry with laughter from Yvonne Calling.

The Molten Festival is an example of the versatility of Remarkable Productions in producing a small intimate street arts festival in comparison to the grand scale of the London Mela. Remarkable are equally at home in either scenario!
